Tony Packo's: Tony Packo's is a Toledo tradition! Serving authentic Hungarian food since 1932, it has five locations, including the original at 1902 Front Street, 43605, downtown by the Mud Hens stadium at 7 S Superior St. 43602 and in Sylvania at 5827 Monroe St., Sylvania, OH. The ideal place for a casual Friday night dinner or Saturday lunch.

Barry Bagels: We never go home to Toledo without having breakfast or lunch at Barry Bagels! Locations include 3301 W Central Ave., 43606 or in Sylvania at 4024 N Holland Sylvania Rd., 43623.

Manhattan's: An ideal spot for a laid-back Friday dinner or Sunday brunch downtown, Manhattan's is less than one mile from the Crowne Plaza Hotel; 1516 Adams Street 43604.

Mancy's Steakhouse: A Toledo staple since 1921, Mancy's was voted one of the top 40 steakhouses in the nation by Esquire Magazine. Located at 953 Phillips Ave., 43612, Mancy's is sure to deliver a memorable meal.

Table Forty 4: A unique, excellent restaurant downtown (walking distance from the Crowne Plaza Hotel), this is a great option for dinner and/or drinks Friday night; 610 Monroe Street, 43604.

Beirut: This Toledo gem offers some of the best Lebanese food you'll find anywhere, and is a close drive from downtown Toledo; 4082 Monroe St.43606.

Ventura's: Toledo's best Mexican restaurant, Ventura's is a Cantrell family favorite. Located at 7742 W. Bancroft St., 43617, it's about a 20-minute drive from downtown Toledo.

Georgio's Cafe International: This elegant downtown restaurant would be perfect for a nice dinner on Friday night; 426 N Superior St., 43604.

Bars

The Blarney: The Blarney Irish Pub is a great spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat downtown; walking distance from The Crowne Plaza Hotel on 601 Monroe St., 43604.

The Oliver HouseBuilt in 1859, this downtown Toledo landmark is home to several bars and restaurants, a theater company and an art gallery. Stop in at the Maumee Bay Brewing Co., for a craft ale, lager or Buckeye Beer; 27 Broadway, 43602.

Fricker's: A popular Midwest sports bar chain, Frickers is known for its wings. The downtown location is near Mud Hens stadium (walking distance from the Crowne Plaza Hotel) at 19 N. St. Clair St., 43604.

Bronze Boar: This downtown bar, located in Toledo's historic Warehouse district, is an eclectic mix of a sports bar, pub, martini and cigar bar; 20 South Huron Street, 43604.

Jed's Fireballs & Brew: Located downtown near Mud Hens stadium, Jed's is a good casual restaurant and sports bar; 2 S St. Clair St.

Activities

Toledo Museum of Art: Our renowned museum is a crown jewel of Toledo. It's free of charge and open all weekend (closed Mondays). Be sure to visit the Glass Pavilion as well; located directly across Monroe Street from the Main Museum. Just check out this glowing review from the New York Times if you need any convincing. The Museum is just west of Toledo’s downtown business district, directly off Interstate 75, at 2445 Monroe Street at Scottwood Avenue. 

The Toledo Zoo: With over 9,000 animals representing over 800 species, The Toledo Zoo is one of the world’s most complete zoos -- it’s also the region’s top family destination! The zoo is located 4 miles south of downtown Toledo on OH 25 (Anthony Wayne Trail) between South Avenue and Woodsdale Ave / Harvard Blvd. 2 Hippo Way, 43609.

Wildwood Preserve Metropark: Head over to Wildwood in Sylvania to explore our favorite walking & running trails. This beautiful park is located on 5100 W. Central Ave.

Imagination Station: If you're traveling with children, be sure to visit Imagination Station to see just how fun science can be. (Even Christa enjoyed visiting!) Imagination Station is located at One Discovery Way, at the corner of Summit and Adams Streets on the riverfront in downtown Toledo (next to the Crowne Plaza Hotel).
